Silent-Yachts, several new launches planned for 2023

Since last summer, when SILENT-YACHTS became the sole owner of its Italian shipyard in Fano, the privately owned company has streamlined its production process and continues to increase the size of its team to manage sales growth.

The strategic acquisition has enabled SILENT-YACHTS to ensure the highest level of Italian design, engineering, interior fit-out and craftsmanship. The shipyard is ideally situated to leverage an established network of local subcontractors and key suppliers.

With 22,000 m² of covered space and similar outdoor area, production focuses on the SILENT 60 series of solar-powered full-electric catamarans. The SILENT 80 series, the SILENT 120 and some other SILENT 60 series yachts are built in Turkey.

“The fiberglass hulls and superstructures are produced and assembled in one shed, then moved to another for installation of technical equipment and interior furnishings,” explains founder and CEO Michael Köhler. “Next to the assembly hall we have a large warehouse for storing components and materials. Since we acquired the facility, we have focused on creating an absolutely reliable and efficient mass production process.”

Silent 62 and Silent 60

Due for delivery in June will be a two-deck version of the SILENT 62, a unique special design with two dedicated conference rooms, two guest cabins and crew quarters. Her U.S. owner plans to make the yacht available for charter to corporate clients (a full review of the yacht will be provided after her launch).

Silent 60

More launches are planned from the Italian shipyard this year, including the first 3-deck SILENT 62 (hull No. 4) in late summer. Based on the bestselling SILENT 60, this version of the SILENT 62 offers an additional deck in place of the normal flybridge, while increasing the overall length of the hull by two feet.

More than 15 SILENT 60s have been assigned for construction in Italy, with the next delivery available in early 2025. However, sales trends show that the slightly larger 3-deck version is an increasingly popular choice among customers.

“In the future, we aim to launch one new unit per month in 2024, and production of the all-electric SILENT TENDER series will also be based in Fano,” Köhler says. “The first prototype tender presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022 was equipped with an electric outboard motor. The range now includes three models – SILENT TENDER 400, 450 and 520 – available with electric jet propulsion.” More information on the Silent Tender model range will be released soon!”
